A few answers
before you start.

Backup or two-way sync?

One-way backup transfers changes from the source to the destination. Two-way sync checks for changes on both sides. The preview shows the proposed actions before each manual run.

Can I use an external drive?

Local NTFS and exFAT folders are supported; version 0.8.1 was tested on a physical exFAT drive. Version 0.8.9 also checks folder recognition using synthetic folders on Google Drive. This does not validate every cloud-drive condition. FAT32 remains unvalidated. UNC network paths are not supported.

Where are my files stored?

Your files stay in the folders and on the drives you choose. Sync runs locally. Earlier versions are kept in .foldertwin-history. Optional update checks contact fylentra.com for version information; they do not send your jobs or files.

What if a task is interrupted?

Completed changes may remain after an interruption. Check History or Recovery center before continuing. Select a file name to reveal it in Explorer; deleted files open their nearest available folder. Recovery does not automatically undo every change.

Why did Fylentra ask me to confirm the same folders again?

Virtual drives can change a folder's internal identity when they reconnect. Explicit folder confirmation saves an identifier at each location. From 0.8.14, a matching identifier at the same location lets an automatic schedule continue after fresh verification. Missing identifiers or moved locations still require confirmation. The marker recognizes folder continuity, not a particular physical disk.

Where can I find help inside the app?

Open Help from the sidebar or press F1. Search the FAQs and troubleshooting topics in English or Greek, without an internet connection. Messages that need attention also link to the relevant help topic.

Why does my job ask for review every day?

Choose automatic mode in Scheduling for unattended backups. Version 0.8.12 removed the idle-exit warning; 0.8.14 also permits verified reconnections at the same location. Conflicts, suspicious changes, unrecognized folders, interrupted operations and incomplete saves still require review. Preview mode and existing pending decisions still wait for approval. New scheduled reviews retain their reason.

Does Fylentra need to keep a window open?

No. With Close to tray enabled, closing the window releases its memory while scheduled backups and notifications continue. Opening Fylentra again loads your saved jobs; unsaved preview choices need a fresh analysis. The computer must be awake and the app must remain running in the tray. Choosing Quit stops scheduling.
